15th Annual Real World Public Health

Graduate public health students and medical residents are invited to attend the 15th Annual Real World Public Health seminar at the Cambridge Public Health Department from 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.

Led by local public health experts, students discuss current scenarios to learn more about the "real life" challenges and opportunities, beyond their classroom training. The event includes:

  • An interdisciplinary panel on tuberculosis.
  • Interactive workshops. Students will attend morning and afternoon workshops. Topics include: "Legal Weed Comes to Massachusetts: Now What?"; "Doctors & Public Health: a "Healthy" Connection"; "Urban Agriculture: Growing Policy for Honey, Eggs, and Fresh Vegetables"; and "Using SBIRT to Implement the Ten Essential Public Health Services."
  • Keynote address by Robert P. Marlin, MD, PhD, MPH, Director of Community Health Engagement and Refugee Health Assessment Program, Cambridge Health Alliance.
  • Breakfast and networking lunch.
